Cizek Photography

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself. Anna Quindlen.

I just love my job!! Im sorry I just cant say it enough. I get to meet the most interesting, hard working, compassionate, and inspiring people. Every once in a while I meet someone and I just can tell from the energy and people that surround them that they are good people!!  Last week I booked a session for a “fitness shoot” This was my first time shooting this type of portrait session but I said hey, I’m gonna make this awesome!  I had never met Jasmin but I just wanted to do something unique and special for her fitness portfolio.

I thought about doing her photos at the gym, but then I thought, no I want her to be outside in an Industrial style setting with graffiti. I got the idea from the amazing photographer Rob Hammer We ended up shooting at Bad Canstatt , at the "Hall of fame" graffiti wall.   The light was amazing and the shoot could not have turned out better!!  I wanted to share Jasmin’s story with you.  Be inspired by this strong and amazing woman! Hard work really and truly does pay off.

Introducing Jasmin Ramirez

"I have been an athlete most of my life, playing basketball, volleyball, running track, etc. My Dad was always remained an avid weight-lifter as a former bodybuilder and Mr. Yolo Country winner. I lifted at a young age with my Dad, but it wasn’t until January of 2011 when I found my true passion for fitness. My husband and I attended our friend’s bodybuilding show here in Stuttgart, Germany. I mentioned that I would love to compete, but I just didn’t think I had the discipline. By February, 2011, my husband and I made a commitment to compete in the May 2011, Ramstein Bodybuilding Invitational. Our friend, Nicole Walend, coached us along the 16 weeks of rigorous training and strict dieting.

I won first place in the Figure Tall Division and my husband, Greg, won second in the lightweight bodybuilding division. After this show I was hooked! I transitioned into an off-season building phase and flew to California to train with my Dad for another show. I trained for 14 weeks and won the Western USA Championships in Sacramento, CA, taking first in the Novice Tall Division and Overall Women’s Figure. While earning a trophy for best symmetry.

I am just days away from my third show and I am eager to step on the stage again. The International Natural Bodybuilding Association will host the World Championships in Karvoly Vary and I am entering the Fitness Figure Division. I am not worried about placing because I am only really in competition with myself. I compete to transform my body and really understand and learn how my body reacts to proper diet and exercise.

My husband and I have been in Germany for a little over two years. We are natives of California, so we look forward to the PCS move to San Diego in November. I hope to continue to compete in the states and hopefully inspire others to either maintain or begin a healthy lifestyle. Bodybuilding requires year-round training, so I have made a commitment to live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the journey along the way. If I can do it, anyone can!!!”

Jasmin represented the USA  on Sat June 30th in The Czech Republic and placed first in the World in the fitness model category!!  Congratulations Jasmin!!

New Business Model for Cizek Photography

Important message for all Cizek Photography Clients. I am moving in two weeks and then again in Sept into our new house that is under Construction. I apologize for not having my schedule completely open these next few weeks. I also wanted to give you guys a heads up about some new exciting things for Cizek Photography. I hope that you can be a part of this next chapter with me. I am moving towards more of a boutique style of photography where I spend more one on one time with my clients from the initial contact all the way through the ordering process.

Once we get settled into the new place I will be doing in home consultations before the shoot to find out exactly what you are looking for in your portrait session. I will then be doing the photo session at a location of your choosing. After the photo session is over and I finish editing the images I will be inviting you to my home studio and we will view your personalized image slideshow together. I will have food and baked goods for you and then we will take a look at your images and place your order for the ones you love and want to see hanging on your walls.

I am looking forward to this new business venture and I hope you can understand why I am making these changes. Even though I have a love and a passion for photography this is still my job and I still have to support my myself and my family and make this a profitable endeavor. I am looking forward to what the future holds and I thank my friend ( you know who you are) for the inspiration!! Thanks for reading!

I’m so excited to announce that Cizek Photography will now be presenting your photos from your portrait session during a one on one private viewing session at my home studio.  I am striving for a more unique and personalized experience for my clients. Once I move into my new home in September I will be totally revamping Cizek Photography. Yes, I know again… but changes are a good thing! I have a completely new and fresh perspective on my business thanks to Tawny Campbell of TLC Photography. She has been kind enough to mentor myself and a few other  photographers in the area and after hearing her story I am inspired to get on board with this new business venture.  I need to do this for myself, my family, and my business in order to be successful. I know my clients are going to really appreciate and value our time getting to know one another and the amazing images I will be providing for you to hang on your walls!   More information coming soon!!

"Do What you love, Love what you do"

High-res My Shooting Style
I am a lifestyle portrait photographer working in the Stuttgart area.  I typically like to shoot outdoors in  Germany’s naturally beautiful parks or landscapes.  I am a very fun-loving outgoing person and I will do whatever it takes to get the shot. I typically like to shoot El Naturel, meaning you being YOU! You might have to laugh out loud, do a walk off, or act like a total silly fool. I like to make my clients feel completely at ease and comfortable in front of the camera.
The goal is for you to have photos that you love and want to display as wall art in your home.  My goal is to capture your personality and the emotional connections you have with your family. This is what I strive to do in every session.  Being a military wife I know how important it is to remember these fleeting moments that we have together as a family. If you have any specific requests or ideas for a shoot please let me know ahead of time and I can try to incorporate them.
Client Consultations
I want to make this a fun and unique experience for all of my clients. These are photos that you will treasure for ages so I want to take the time to make them perfect for you. In order to do this a pre-session consultation via email or phone will need to take place. This way I can find out what you are looking for in a photographer as well as find out more about you your needs for our session.
Hopefully you have already viewed my work and are familiar with my style of photography.  If you like what you see and you think we would work well together, please email me your answers to the questionnaire as well as some dates you are available so I can start personalizing your session right away.
Session Fees
The Session fee covers the consultation, the session time, talent, creative planning, location scouting, travel, economy fuel prices, German license fees, creative image editing, and time spent ordering prints. Half of the session fee is due at the time of booking to reserve your date. I must receive half of your session fee 48 hours from sending the invoice otherwise your date may become available again. You can use a major credit card to pay via PayPal. If you must cancel please give me at least 72 hours’ notice so that I can re-book your session date. Deposit will not be re-funded but can be applied towards a future session.
Contracts
Every customer must sign a contract. Basically you are giving me permission to use your image on my website, fb page, or portfolio/ advertising for my business.  If there is a privacy issue please let me know ahead of time and I can put an additional clause in the contract. Please email me if you would like to see a contract before our shoot.
Edited Images and Online Proofing Gallery
Your images will be available for you to view 2-3 weeks from our session date in a private password protected gallery. When they are finished, I will send you a link to your gallery via email with a password and instructions for ordering. From there, you will be able to view and purchase a variety of professional prints and boutique products. Galleries will be archived at 14 days, and will require a fee to reload them.
Location and Time of Shoot
I have a small home studio available for newborns, babies, children, and head shots. However, I prefer shooting outdoors with natural lighting. Most of my sessions will be held in a unique or special location within the Stuttgart or surrounding areas.  I can also come to you for a small fee.  We will discuss location closer to our session date. As far as scheduling a time for the shoot, the best time to shoot is an hour or two before sunset so the times may vary from shoot to shoot.
PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR YOUR SHOOT! Your session time starts as planned whether or not you are there on time or not.  I will wait 20 minutes past our scheduled time and if you do not show you will forfeit your deposit. Thanks for understanding this policy.
Inclement Weather
The weather here in Germany is very unpredictable. In case of rain I will be in touch with you an hour or two before our scheduled session and we will choose another date and time  that will work better for us. Thanks for understanding and being flexible with this.
What to Wear
I always refer my clients to my favorite site here Wardrobe Wednesday. I recommend that you wear something that reflects your style, but try not to wear bright contrasting bold colors.  No sleeve-less shirts, cutoff jeans, or shorts! Shorts in general are usually not advised. We want all the attention focused on your beautiful faces.
Products
Print pricing is available on the Investments tab of my website.  I will be offering canvas and gallery wrapped prints, as well as coffee table book, cards, etc. I can email you a list of boutique items as they are added

Help Me Name My Etsy Shop & Win a Complimentary Portrait Session OR 11x14 Travel Print !!

I am in the process of creating a new website, blog, and Etsy shop.  In order to try to create more interest in Cizek Photography’s landscape, street, and travel photographs, I need to generate more interest in my Etsy shop! I am recruiting my awesome fans and clients to help me brainstorm ideas for my new shop name! It needs to be something associated with Cizek Photography but I want it to represent the other side of my business. I have the lifestyle portraits that I do on a regular basis but I am looking to promote photographs from my travels and experiences while in Europe.  I am looking for something that has a combination of soft and edgy and incorporates (insert name here) by Cizek Photography or something of this nature.  I am from SC so I am a southern girl at heart… incorporating anything having to do with this or combining this with my current life in Europe and my travels would be awesome!!

Here are the rules

  • You must like my facebook page www.facebook.com/cizekphotography
  • You must follow my blog here  http://cizekphotography.tumblr.com/
  • In order to win you must comment on my Cizek Photography fb status announcing the contest with an idea for an etsy shop name.
  • If I like your Etsy shop name the best and it gets chosen you or whoever your volunteer will win one FREE lifestyle portrait session with yours truly! You will receive 10 edited images as well as a 8x12 landscape photo of Germany.
  • You must live in the Stuttgart Germany or surrounding area or be willing to travel to me for your session.
  • You will also have to sign a document stating that it is ok for me to use the name that you have chosen for my shop.
  • Contest ends on June 30th so start brainstorming!!

Good Luck everyone!!
